As specialist care often involves advanced diagnostics and procedures, fees can vary depending on your pet’s specific needs. We encourage you to discuss any financial concerns with our team so we can work with you to provide the best possible care for your pet.
At MediPaws, we believe in cost transparency. This is why our consultation fees are shown below, and we will always provide you with upfront and updated price estimates throughout your visit. Please note that some of our onsite partners, such as Vet Dermatology Clinic and Eye Clinic for Animals, may have separate consultation fees. Your attending vet will inform you accordingly.
Our specialist consultation fees include a comprehensive review of your pet’s medical history, a physical examination, a discussion with you about your pet’s condition, and a proposed diagnostic and/or treatment plan.
Further diagnostics, medications and treatments may incur additional fees, which will be discussed with you in detail throughout the consultation.
For emergency & hospital stays, a deposit is required based on anticipated costs, and adjustments will be made upon discharge.
Our emergency consultations include a comprehensive physical examination of your pet, a thorough discussion with you about options for diagnostics and/or treatments, and a clinical summary for you to take home after the visit to ensure you know how best to care for your pet after heading home.
We have fixed pricing on some of our more common emergency treatment packages to help you plan your pet’s visit. Our friendly reception team can let you know if this is applicable for your pet.
Additional fees may apply for further diagnostics, treatments and medications.
Some patients require admission to our hospital for more extensive diagnostics and/or treatments. If this is required for your pet, you will be provided with an estimate of costs beforehand. A deposit of up to 50% of the total estimate will be required on admission.
To minimise these upfront costs for our insured patients, our reception team can assist with insurance pre-approvals, reducing the required deposit amount. Please notify our reception team 24 hours before your procedure if you would like them to assist with this.
To help alleviate financial stress, we are able to offer flexible payment plans through our reputable third-party provider. These plans allow you to spread the cost of your pet’s treatment over manageable monthly instalments, making advanced specialist care more accessible to everyone.
We partner with VetPay to offer flexible payment plans for the duration of your pet’s specialist treatment.
MediPaws accepts GapOnly® payments, making insurance claims simpler and faster. Instead of paying the full vet bill upfront and claiming later, eligible pet insurance customers can claim on the spot and pay the gap only. This means less out-of-pocket expense at the time of treatment, so you can focus on your pet’s health, not the paperwork. For more details, speak to our team or visit gaponly.com.au.
At MediPaws, we want to help you get the most out of your pet’s insurance and reduce any upfront fees. Many insurance plans cover specialist and emergency expenses, although coverage can vary depending on your individual policy details.
Insurance Pre-Approvals
Our team are ready to assist you throughout the insurance pre-approval process, so you can be certain of your coverage amount before treatment commences. This process varies depending on the insurer, so we recommend informing our reception team 24 hours before any planned procedures. Some emergency pre-approvals can also be processed by insurers faster.
On-The-Spot Claims
Some insurers offer on-the-spot claims approvals, reducing your total out-of-pocket expenses. If you’re unsure if this is available with your insurer, our friendly reception team can assist.
Your Specific Coverage
Many insurance plans cover specialist care expenses, though coverage can vary depending on your individual policy details. Be sure to check with your pet insurance provider for required submission details.
To ensure that we are able to continue providing exceptional care to our patients, we do require all outstanding balances to be finalised on discharge from our hospital.
