BVSc, BSc, GradDipEd, MVetClinStud, MANZCVS(Surgery)
Originally from Switzerland, Fabian has spent most of his life in Australia. Fabian graduated from the University of Queensland in 2012 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. He has undertaken a rotating and surgical internship in Brisbane followed by a surgical specialty traineeship and residency in small animal surgery in Perth. Fabian remained in Perth for a while longer, commencing work in a very busy referral hospital with a diverse caseload with excellent opportunity to hone his skills whilst “drinking from the fire hose”.
However, the urge to head over East was just too great, relocating to Sydney with his partner and their beloved dog Olive, who is the first pug to cross the Nullarbor by car (unofficially). Fabian is working towards completing board examinations with the European College of Veterinary Surgeons.
During his professional journey, Fabian has attained membership status into the Surgery Chapter of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists by examination, and completed a Graduate Diploma in Tertiary and Adult Education and a Master’s in Veterinary Clinical Studies. His main research interests are in the field of bone plate biomechanics. Clinically, he particularly enjoys fracture repair, neuro, thoracic, abdominal and reconstructive surgery.
Fabian believes a two-vet household has its perks and is one way to permanently keep the veterinary dream alive, but guarantees you always take your work home with you! Outside of work, Fabian’s main interests are fishing, fitness, anything outdoors and DIY projects.
