Lisa is a Lead Specialist Veterinary Medicine nurse here at MediPaws. Originally from Ireland, her love for animals began at a very young age with her first word being “Spot,” the name of her family dog. This early passion has shaped her career ever since.

She began working in a local wildlife park at the age of 15, where her interest in animal care and welfare quickly grew. She went on to study at Athlone Institute of Technology, completing a BSc in Veterinary Nursing followed by an Honours degree in Applied Bioscience. During this time, she gained valuable experience working across a wide range of veterinary practices, from small animal clinics to large animal and farm settings, caring for everything from routine health care of dogs and cats to farm and livestock relief work.

Alongside her studies and clinical work, she volunteered across numerous animal services, including the rehabilitation and release of orphaned baby seals in the sunny south-east of Ireland. These experiences strengthened her commitment to high standards of patient care, conservation, and animal welfare.

In 2019, she moved to Australia and was fortunate to secure a role as a medicine nurse. This transition reignited her passion as she discovered the exciting and challenging world of specialist veterinary nursing, while also embracing life in the beautiful city of Sydney. In 2024, she obtained permanent residency and now proudly calls Sydney home.

After several years working alongside an exceptional team of veterinarians and nurses, she decided to challenge herself further and was very fortunate to obtain the position of Lead Medicine Nurse at Medipaws. The commitment and level of care provided at Medipaws are second to none, and she knew immediately she wanted to be part of such a special team. She is incredibly excited about the many opportunities ahead at MediPaws. She takes with her, her dog Mr. Chips – her beautiful Staffy who helps save lives by donating blood.
